Fat/bloated gourami

Hi!

I have two honey gouramis in my 95l (and have since read that only 1 is advisable) - in the past few days one of them has gotten really fat/bloated. It is also the one that seems quite territorial and sometimes chases my other fish, but especially the other gourami.

I am not sure if this is an illness, or anything to do with mating?

I've checked ammonia, trIte and trAte and all are fine.

Anyone have any suggestions about what could be wrong?

I've attached some pics - might try to get some clearer ones if it'll help.

This has nothing to do with mating. pure gourami behavior at it's finest. they are very territorial fish and mean towards the other species of it's kind.

try feeding a shelled pea to help with the bloating. otherwise, your best bet is to rehome one of the them to prevent this again.

when fish are stressed, they become more susceptible to disease/issues like this.

I have a dwarf gourami who has a tendency to bloat with constipation. I thought I was going to lose him once because he was so clogged up.
I tried peas as Missoutank suggested but this guy refused them.
So I fasted him for several days and he finally was able to expell the waste.
I then changed from Omega hi protein flakes to a spirulina veggie blend and he's never bloated since. I think some food is high in oil and fats and might tend to constipate them.
Anyway, changing food worked for me and all the fish in the tank love the spirulina blend.

Try an epsom salt bath in a quarantine tank with 1 tbs. of epsom salt/10 gallon. If he won't eat peas, try a little frozen brine shrimp.
