Which LED system.
hey guys,
im starting a 25 gallon cube for the wife in the bedroom, bought the tank last night, getting the sump today(first tank with a sump
) and now the lighting. this is the tricky part because the wife is more concerned with appearance than function(typical apple product user) so i have narrowed choices.
Kessil A150W(new)
Kessil 350w(dimmable)(new)
AI Sol Blue(with controller)(used)
AI Nano(not sure if this would work)(used)
cheapo Ebay 3w bridglux LED(dimmable- non controlable)
or
the coral life Hang mount Metal Halide( i wouldn't need a heater lol- tried and true.)
i have read that the kessil a150w is awesome and so are the other products listed- it will be a mixed reef a little of everything
trying to keep in the budget of $350
now im left with a choice i know nothing much about since my 55 is still MH10G Algae tank-The Nano was moved to the 55G
55G Reef-
55G FOWLR-soon
55G Coral only-soon
150G-reef/ fowlr? Soon
75G predator tanksoon

I have only used the AI SOLs. I really do like them. The royal blue and blue combination gives a really great light when used with the correct amount of white. That would be a good fixture to used when combined with the controller.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

For a cube tank I would choose the AI SOL. I have seen them in action and they are awesome especially the newer version with cloud cover effects. I have a r420r on my 48 inch long tank which I am happy with. The AI SOL square systems I saw are neat but I would need two of them which would cost a bit much.

I would suggest apollo reef led fixtures http://apolloreefled.com/shop/ . I've had them on my tanks over a year and a half and love them. The growth is on par with halides and they look great. They dont have all the fancy features of the more expensive lights, but they are bright and coral love them
