Are fire eels meant to bury themselves?
I have read that they do this online, but I just wanted to confirm as my fire eel has only just started doing this today. Usually its always swimming around the tank and hanging around the plants. It came out once today when I got back from school; which is quite worrying, it has not eaten today and to my suprise he did not even come out for bloodworm which I know he loves. The eel just sits with its head and tail poking out of the gravel with a large majority of it buried. Please help as I'm begginning get quite worried. Thanks in advance.

perfectly normal behavior. get him a nice comfortable 'hollow log' and they'll usually call that their home.
