Help w/ sexing Rams
I know there are great other threads on sexing blue rams, but I was just wondering if you could take a look at these Rams I have. I got to pick my own out so I chose these two with the hopes that they are male and female.
This is Ram #1:

This is Ram #2. Its more aggressive and seems to push around Ram #1. Its spangling, its dorsal Fin, its color, seems to be to be a female. Except the second or third ray is extended....

Lastly here is a picture of them doing something.... I don't know if its important to understanding the genders of these fish, but here it is:

Thoughts?

This is the second image of Ram #2, With a better shot of its dorsal (the other one, it looks like the dorsal is covered up)

Looks like two males but I could be wrong. Take a few more close ups. Be patient, it may take 100 shots to get 10... or even two! lol. That tail fin is HUGE on these rams. Finage alone lends its self to males.

Also looking deeper into the circling picture... i see the specks on the black dot but that is one seriously flashy female if it is... They will test each other before pairing... Is the body of ram 2 round near the belly?

a little rounded yes, but not too much. They just got in my tank two days ago, and I feed only a little yesterday. On Ram #2, the tail fin does not extend past the base of the tail at all, as is seen in the picture, where as the other has that kind of elongated point that extends past that point. I see a little spangling on Ram #1, but not NEARLY as much as Ram #2. Also Ram #2 has that pink/purple belly where the other does not. Ram #2 is the aggressor though, is that normal in a female to be so pushy? Also you said they could be testing each other, would that be the circling dance?

Tough call with those pictures. If you could get a little better shot of ram #1 it would be helpful.
My female was pushy, she was the aggressor between the pair.
The fins on ram #2 do look female (rounded tail fin) but the belly colour isn't really dominant. Click a few more shots and see if you can enlarge them a bit. Photo bucket can assist with that and it's a free site.Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..
Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

Its so hard to tell with all the inbreeding of the rams... they can resemble other things... The description you gave though sounds like you do have a m/f. I just need better pics to confirm.
