    Default Clean live sand

    I have 100lbs of live sand that sat in a tank for months with out any filtration and most water drained. Stinks and the bottom of the sand was a greenish color. I want to clean it and eventually add to my tank. Suggestions?

    I would rinse it in tap water till its clean and doesn't stink, then give it a final rinse in Ro/DI.

    29 gallon-planted community
    20 long frag tank
    75 gal-planted goldfish
    75 gallon mixed reef with 20 gallon sump
