I recommend all neons or all endlers, keeping both in a ten will be a little cramped.

I don't see why it would be cramped.
Could you explain why, but if you think so I will go all endler.
Is there anything else I could put with endler.

I don't think neons belong in a 10 gallon. Much too active species.

Is that Oticinclus that you're referencing Talldutchie? I second that opinion. They're fun. I love them.

If you decide you don't feel like your tank is large enough for neons, perhaps the endlers and a couple oticats would be better. The opinion seems to be 50/50 on whether oticinclus needs a school or not. I have only kept individuals, and others here keep them in groups.

Just a thought here --- correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not sure. Wouldn't a dwarf ciclid work? I mean like, 1. Their colors just POP, and are big enough to be seen clearly. Esp if you have a black background.

Yep! Otocinclus vittatus to be specific. 4 or so would look nice, especially if you get some vertical wood and manage to get some algae.

Depends a bit on the shape of the tank but it would be a big stretch. PErsonally I'd try a pair of badis but that's not for everyone

Apistogrammoides pucallpaensis or Apistogramma Hongsloi could be made to work in a species only. You;d need to have mastered the basics though.

Yeah TD. I'm talking like, that would be your only fish. I don't see there being much room for anything else IF you went that way.

Maybe some Kuhlis or something? Not that they'd be seen very often though.

MandyK, I don't think that'd work.
If you have seen a full grown dwarf, a 10gallon doesn't provide enough footprint for them to get around.
They get to be a beefy 4inches and are as active as the space you provide.

the are smaller apisto's that could work as tallDutchie has mentioned.

i would love to have a ciclid. but none of my lfs carries ciclids small enough for a 10.
so that is not possible.
so i was thinking if you guys know some bigger fish suitable for a 10 with endler. (around 3 inches)
maybe some platy? would a ram or kribensis work for a 10. ( i don't think they would like a 10 gallon)

and also if i get some oto with endler can i put my tank near sunlight. (will lead to a algae problem
i have a perfect spot for the tank but it is near the windows soo...
i know that algae isn't harmful to fish, but it looks bad. correct me if i'm wrong.
