    Im not sure how old it is exactly, but I've had it for two weeks now. Silver arowanas are paternal moutbrooders so the male protects them until the yolk sac is depleted.

    So for a young arowana to have its yolk sac it means that the male was stripped in the manner of African mouth brooding cichlids?

    Yes. Though most silver aros are farm bred nowadays.

    Seriously sweet fish aeon! Glad you chose to raise one! I can imagine a year or two down the line you will have some serious satisfaction knowing you raised a cute little baby into a 3ft monster!

    Nice fish! It's always nice to hear about someone keeping them properly. The 270 should be a good size for him.
