Replanting a Plant?

Hey there. So my husband and I have a Red Ludwigia Plant in our aquarium, and we've had it for about 2 months now. It's starting to kind of "overgrow" on to one side....and we're wondering if we are able to make it into two plants, instead of one big huge one. Our tank is only 10 gallons, and we have an Oranda Goldfish, and a miniature Catfish.

Stem plants like the ludwigia can be cut along the stem and replanted. Make sure to have the cutting be at least 4 inches/ 10 cm long to give it a good chance of taking.

PS: you might want to look up the potential size and care requirements of your stock, especially the goldfish.

Should we be making sure there is a root on the piece we take from for the replanting? It's just gotten way to big, and the other plant we got the goldfish ate.

But the ludwigia has flourished nicely with little to no disturbance.
