The best buy I ever made. (For healthy water changes)
I always hated doing water changes, then my tanks went nuclear with nitrates. On top of that I decided to get fancy guppies and many of my snails and shrimp died off. I was not happy, game on!
Best buy was a small pond/fountain pump and enough tube to reach my sinks. Water changes and vacuuming has never been easier. I feel so ignorant that I didn't come up with it before. One normal siphon for the tank leading into the pump intake and a longer hose to expel (and eventually to hook onto the sink for direct refill) and no more is my laziness an issue.
Lovin' it!
Shrimp and snail junkie... What can I say, I like the little things in life.

It is nice! When I had to drain my 300g tank I hooked up a pump to a hose to a very long PVC line running through the house and out a back window lol. Worked great!

I bought a MJ600 to do this exact same thing. Well, my old water goes into a cooler, then dumped outside. New water comes out of a 10g aquarium I have beside my main tank that I use to mix salt. It doubles as a powerhead to mix the salt and a really convenient way to move water.
