Help with fish ID
I have a fish years ago that I would like to get again if I can figure out what it was. Unfortunately I have no picture. He was small, around one inch full grown and very red. He was shaped similar to a cichlid and was aggressive. He had a small territory close to the tank bottom and defended it even from larger fish.

Never mind, I finally figured out what to google to find these guys. He was a Dario dario, aka Scarlet badis. If anyone happens to know a supplier though, I would be grateful.

Sounds like it could be a scarlet badis, also known as a dario dario.
EDIT: I see you found it while I was posting.Liters to Gallons conversion calculator

Might it have been something like from the above link? It's kinda blurry but the color might be right - was it a dwarf cichlid maybe?
*Edit - I see you found it -what a pretty fish!Last edited by imma24; 02-25-2013 at 04:42 PM.

I only had one before and he wasn't skittish. He did like to hide partially in his cave but his face was always showing. I generally have small schooling fish in my tanks like neons and guppies. Does anyone know how the badis is with shrimp? I have a fair amount of cherries in my community tank.
I may have found a source for these guys, am waiting on a reply about availability.
