Shrimp swim like crazy after water changes. They also do when something is killing them. Is the planted nano tank newly set up? The substrate, decorations, etc could be leaching something. What is the tank's history? Did you EVER use it as a quarantine tank or treated with medications, especially copper based ones in it? Do a water change and see if their condition improves, or, if possible move them back to where you know they are safe(the old tank?)

Is the Nano tank cycled? They could be trying to escape a build up of toxins at the bottom of the tank... ammonia/nitrites/nitrates, etc.

I would probably do another water change just to be safe. Dechlorinate the water before adding it to the tank.

Just raised the hardness a bit and they are doing ALOT better. Only like 3-6 out of 20 something are at the top now. They are looking much better. Only 3 died, and luckily I stopped it before more did.

Did you cycle the water? I know shrimp have an aversion to nitrates, but for sure nitrites and ammonia are bad for them. Also maybe they are just overstressed and only 1 or 2 die, a weathering of the storm kinda deal. RCS will come back, not sure of the others, if the water is cycled. IMO anyhow

Shrimp and snail junkie... What can I say, I like the little things in life.

I am now changing water once every 1 or 2 weeks and I have had no deaths since. I am noticing some algea but I'm gonna rub it off tomorrow. I'm about 85% comfortable with everything right now.

Tiny bit on the sides. Just scrubbed it off, along with the crap hanging on the side.
