Is this magazine worth subscribing to?

I had a subscription to this years ago and realy enjoyed it. It seems to be a little pricey now. I used to get 12 issues for $24.00.

So I was wondering if anybody reads it anymore and if it's worth getting again?

I got a few copies. For me not worth it. It now tries to do too many things at once.

I had a subscription last year but didn't renew it. I personally found there was allot of info and stuff about fish or products I am not interested in. There was nothing about fish I am interested in or keep.

As a newbie, I don't get much info from them.

Your local library may carry copies. I read a few of them each time I go. Or if you have a library card, you can take them home to read. No subscription or $$$ outlay needed.

I get them monthly and have for 3 years+ and have every issue dating back 10+ years thanks to my grandfather. I love the different articles, not for most practical applications, but Jack watley has great discus info, Jeff Rapps and a few others do a lot of input. Planted tanks are always covered and its a great all around hobbiest mag to edjucate beyond the normal stuff.

    I always recommend them.
    FW: 1 45gal, 1 40gal, 3 10gal, 3 30gal all community tanks of different species
    Sw: 1 55gal, 1 30gal show, 1 29gal show, 1 20gal and 2 10's

Is it worth it? I guess that depends how much enjoyment you get out reading them. I usually just borrow them from a friend, he has around 30 years worth of them. Mostly look at them if looking for a certain article.

I now enjoy Amazonas Magazine more and so I read that. The photography is excellent. Content is good as well.

I've not got a lot to compare it to but I like Practical Fish Keeping magazine.

There just so much good and better information on the net these days, enough to read for years strait, I can no longer justify any magazines, and if any where good enough I would just read them online to save paper / shipping and help the environment. Your wife can never make you throw out the internet.
