I was examining the supplies you have - are those test strips you are going to use to test your parameters?

May I recommend you get an all-in-one liquid test kit? They are much more reliable and give you many more tests for the initial cost - if there's a way to return what you already bought.

It looks like those are liquid tests but I agree, it would probably have been more cost efficient to purchase the master test kit.

Hind site is 20/20. I should have bought the master kit.

Nice looking tank. I can't wait to see what your going to put in it once it's cycled.

It's full of water! I have a supply line run to it. The drain is done. The filter is running. And, the air pump is running. Now to start my fishless cycle.

I decided to run as much PVC as possible and have the least amount possivle of hose.

You can also see the manifold for the air stones.

Here's the drain coming out from behind the wall into the utility closet.

Here's the hot and cold water lines coming in.

I have a valve on both lines. That way, I can adjust the water temperature, and then use the single valve after the T to turn it off and on. I'll also leave the cold line shut off so that I don't have a loop from my cold to hot water lines.

I've seeded the tank and am dosing up the Ammonia. I bought the Ammonia from Ace. In this pic you will see a bag of gravel from our existing tank, as well as an old filter. I've since removed the blue filter media from the filter, and placed it and the bag of gravel directly into the new Eheim filter.
Do I remove this from the filter once my cycle is complete?
