Whats your favorite Butterflyfish?
Two of mine are the Racoon and Copperband.Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

I have always liked the copperband best.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I like all of them but I tend to steer people away from the butterfly. Most are very specialized forage feeders and will not do so great over long periods of keeping. I agree the copper band is very attractive.

I have never done salt water, but just looking at photos of the different options, my favorite is either the Ornate (Chaetodon ornatissimus) or the Threadfin (Chaetodon auriga).

Copperbanded Butterfly for sure. Ours decided to wedge himself between a rock and the glass when we went away for the weekend. So.... we are in the market for a new fish!

I never have had any luck with the Butterfly, I'm glad people are successful. I was under the impression that the Butterfly was a reef feeder only?

Some are realy finicky eaters, like the Foureye but the more common ones are easy to keep and feed.

I've always had a thing for the Copperband right from the start 35 years ago but I have never kept one and probably wont. I cant believe how the price has come down over the years for these. They should have kept the cost at over $100.00 to keep these fish away from the not so experienced.
