I used slate tile to make caves. I simply threw it down on the garage floor to break it up (that part was fun), used a dremel to round off the edges) and then siliconed it together using aquarium safe silicone."The Dumpster Tank" 26g flat back hex - Betta albimarginata, corydoras, checker barbs, pork chop rasbora
"Nano Fish Tank" 20g long - Celestial Pearl Danios, microrasboras, Corydoras habrosus
"Mbuna Tank" 75g - Ps. saulosi, I. sprengerae, M. pulpican, M. joanjohnsonae
"Time Out Tank" 29g - dominant male Cynotilapia sp. "hara"

Somewhere I saw a man take a small tera cotta pot, bust a hole in the side, then cover it with aquarium sealer. He then covered it in his substrate and let dry good. Really looked good. If I ever get my tanks repaired and up and running, I am thinking of a simular item. Only want to use clear plastic (plexi glass) and make a small curved piece for a cave. Should be interesting.
