I agree with the suggestion for a Tiger Barb tank. Awesome, active fish, great in large schools were all they can terrorize is each other. Do a fishless cycle, and add them all at once.

Thlorian- I found it on Gumtree.
I really do like the idea of the Barb tank! I just love mossy barbs :-)
Could I put an angel in there too? or would that be to much ?"Fish aren't meant to be in a box, kid. It does things to them"

I think if you want a proper barb set up + angel, we would need a 55gallon.
Barbs like to nip, and in a 40, there isn't too much room for the angel to get away if they turn on him. his long fins would be just tooo tempting for them to pass up.
I wouldn't risk it because they could just shred him apart.

Even in a 55g I wouldn't put an angel with barbs, no way. Not after owning barbs and angels (in separate tanks). The angels are so slow and floaty I sometimes wonder how they live at all in the wild without just getting mauled all the time. And TBs are wild things.
A smaller sized cichlid might be alright with barbs though... Like a Sajica or convict. Maybe some Keyholes.

Alright that's okay. I was just checking if it was possible or not :-)
I was thinking about a tetra tank maybe or is that to boring?"Fish aren't meant to be in a box, kid. It does things to them"

No I don't think a tetra tank would be boring but I'm kind of biased LOL.
You have so many choices and best of all most of them are peaceful.
Rummy boses and Cardinals look great together. You could substitute Neons for the Cardinals.
Another way to go, even if their not tetras (I beleive it was already suggested) would be Harlequin rasboras.Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

Or a killie tank, but that would pretty expensive if you wanted to fill it with them. A real fun tank would be if you filled it up with like 10 black and yellow platys and 10 of another platy you like. Or you can go with a gourami tank, which are some real pretty fish. Like everyone else said, there are a lot of choices.
