Return Line Spray Head

Things are coming together. I now have a question regarding the return line in the tank.The bulk head comes in appx 6" below the water line and the overflow box is directly above it.I was thinking of just coming out of the 3/4" bulkhead with a pvc tee allowing the water to disperse to the left and right. Is this ok or do I need to plumb it so that it is at the surface? I want to keep it as clean as possible. You can just see the black line where the bottom of the coast to coast is going to be.

Plumb it so it is at the surface. Keep in mind that if your return pump stops working, you will also get drain back into the sump from the return line as well.

I like using line lock fittings and lines to direct the flow from the return line to the direction and hight that I want. Just position it up and over the overflow to the direction and depth you want. You can always add a powerhead to keep the water moving from the tank into the drain line / overflow.
