Filtration? I assume you already have fish in the smaller tank that are being moved to the new tank?

two power heads one with sponge and carbon, the other bioballs and sponge
fish that are going to the other tank 7 blackskirts, neons, betta male, lots of plants which include swords and a 3 foot light which gives a good spectrum of light for both the fish and plants, thinking of getting either a sera or eheim external at a later stage.
fisrt things first to set up and getting it running with no problems and of course the gravel will go as well

You might want a Mod to change your title from inches to feet? I had to come here to see this 3" tank you were speaking of. LOL

    Good luck.
