  1. Default Small spike after stock additions, plz help me manage

So I added more stock to my 36g bf yesterday morning, 7 rummynose and 1 BN pleco. Last night the levels looked good, today I get home from work and they are 0.25/0/5. What would you suggest doing to manage this mini-spike? Just water change? anything else? I have API quick start available in my drawer if that is an easier, faster solution. My fish thank you in advance.

Water change - 50% at least and 75% would be better. Do this each day the ammonia reaches .25 ppm. In a few days to a week the filter bacteria should adjust.

A 75 gal with eight Discus, fake plants, and a lot of wood also with sand substrate. Clean up crew is fifteen Sterba's Corys. Filters: canister w/UV, in-tank algae scrubber that removes phosphates and nitrates! Also, a highly dangerous commercial nitrate removal unit from hell

This is common when adding new fish. Just keep the ammonia where it is or less with water changes and it should level out again shortly.

Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Smaug, you're here a lot just to say it's a waste of your time, poor baby, I bet you don't even know how big a loser you are, and how much we laugh at you and your foolish attempt to give your life meaning. Quit drinking, get a life, go take care of your family, grow up!

Good you did the water change. When you are at the maximum safe ammonia level - 0.25 ppm - and water changes will be done once a day, you need to cut that level by at least half (or better still, 3/4) to prevent the level from again climbing to this 0.25 ppm or even higher before the next water change.
