I visited one of my favorite lfs today and saw some of the fish I am considering.

One of the species I liked a lot once I saw them in person were the denison barbs. This particular shop has a display tank with a half dozen adults that are not for sale. They are beautiful! I was also impressed with the bosemani rainbows. They had some type of loaches they said would stay pretty small,I don't remember the name of them but they were pretty cool, they were black and white kinda marbled.
And the wife fell in love with, what they called, a "Brazilian puffer". But he said there is a 6 month waiting list on these guys....

I will be doing some more research on these guys to see if they would be good tank mates.....

Any input on this stocking list would be appreciated. I am thinking of 6-12 of each with a single puffer.

I am thinking of doing a mix of live and artificial plants and some type of hardscaping.... the tank currently has sand substrate I think that may change. Or at least partiality change. I think I read that laoches do well on sand.
