How much of a risk?
I recently invested in an electronic pH probe compatible with my arudino micro controller and just finished formatting it with pH 7 and pH 4 solutions. Began testing all water in my house and found tap water being 7.2 and water from my tank being 6.7. Now my question. The tank is stagnant water covered, with only a small inlet hole, which collects water from the roof of my house during rain. If i wanted to use the tank water because its softer what are the risks and how likely are they to cause issues with my fish.

5ft 150gal planted discus tank - 8 discus, 10 cardinal tetras, 10 rummnose, 6 albino cories, and breeding RCS in tank sump and just about everywhere everything done from scratch, filtration and stand tank

there are no overhanging trees over the roof but i cant guarantee that nothing gets into the gutters, the roof is colourbond, so the actual roof is very clean, however not knowing what could come off the roof is a deal breaker?

To me it would be. IF it's covered in slate or ceramic roofing tiles it's worth a try. If it's covered in asphalt shingles for example I'd steer clear.
Also depends where you live, a surprising amount of pollution can find it's way onto roofs and will slowly be washed down.My 33 gallon/125 liter tank. My photography on flickr.
