Great day at the swap. lots of ?'s
I went to the lfs swap today and bought $20 worth of raffle tickets. I ended up winning the 2 big prizes-A Marine Inovations Nuvo 16 tank and an AI Sol led module. I caught some seriously dirty looks when I won the light right after winning the tank.

Anyway, things worked out really well since I have been considering starting a reef and had actually been looking at the Nuvo 16 online. Now I'm starting the research to figure out exactly how I want to proceed with my new set up. My first question is about the lighting. The tank comes with led modules, but I imagine that the AI is a better light. Which oun would be better? I could also utilize both systems, but would that be total overkill?

The AI SoL is the superior light. Go with it. Nice tank, be careful not to scratch the acrylic.
Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..
Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

The tank is actually bent glass. The only acrylic is the divider between the display area and the filtration compartment.

+1 to the above
I have AI SOLs on both of my tanks. They are a great light. If you did get a controller, I would suggest getting at least the AI controller. What you will likely find is that a single AI SOL would be very very bright for a smaller tank like yours. The controller will give you a lot of options to set the lighting intensity with having to mount the light 2 feet above your tank.If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.
