That big one is a very unique piece of mopane. It just begs to have the smaller pieces stuck to the top and become a moss tree.

Omg Mandy! That big piece is smexy! The tree idea would be boss. What if you anchored a crap load of java ferns all around the top so you had a huge green tree growing in your tank?

Haha. I tied my plants to my driftwood using regular sewing thread the same color as the wood.

I meant the wood crunchy. How to attach the small pieces of wood to the big one safely.

You could skip the tree and try Frog Bit. It would probably have a very cool look in a tank that size w/ that piece of wood. When growing well, they get pretty long (about 5-7" worth) roots that hang from the surface of the water. It gives a really cool canopy look. How tall is that stump? Admittedly, my idea really works if the stump sticks out of the water (or at least touches the surface).

It definitely isn't that tall. It's only about half the height of the tank. We're going to do some serious rearranging this evening. This is just the beginning!!!! The tree thing may or may not happen, although I am attaching the smaller branches to the stump regardless.
