Hah! I saw a Golden Ram in my LFS a wee while ago when I went to pick up my super-red severum. I'd never seen one before and never heard of them being sold in NZ... Needless to say I left the store with more than just a new severum that day! He/she is so gorgeous. Love their pink face and the way they sparkle under the right light, prettier than the regular GBRs IMO.

Are you able to sex yours Mandy? I can't for the life of me tell what mine is.

Amelia, I haven't even researched how to sex a GR. Lol. I wasn't expecting to get one so I didn't check it out. I'll have to look up some methods and get back to you on that.

Glad somebody else knows what I'm talking about, haha!

I like the golds, and that one is acceptionally well colored. I saw my first balloon gold ram last week... I dont see the appeal but im sure they sell. I enjoy my GBR's at work. Though one has a lot of gold in them, they are still "gbr"... I think a bit of inbreeding in the strain happened.

My LFS has golden rams. They are really pretty. Yours is gorgeous, Mandy. He/she? is getting along okay with your bolivian?

If I had to guess, I'd say female. No trailing strands/points in the caudal fin. Beautiful pics, Mandy. Looking forward to seeing this baby w/ substrate. =]

I have no idea as to if this is a girl or boy. I've been referring to it as 'she'. :)

Sooooooooooooo, I took some pictures today. Although that may be an understatement. I'm going to post my tank pics here, and I'll put the rest in the photo forum under "Picture Crazy!"

I simply used the left over substrate I had from the 55g. I just got tired of looking at it with no substrate. Lol. I piled it up in the middle so I could stick my plants in. I can't stress how much cleaner the pool filter sand is than the flourite!
