Adding ferts (Flourish) and iron (becareful with iron, Fe is toxic in high levels to fish) should help the plants; some plants use root tabs so that might be needed.
Good doing the large water change and vacuuming up the BGA is the best method.
So far, all is well - the car now works fine, the CO is zero, and I am catching back up with the tank. The commute will get far better when I move in the next ten months ... .Knowledge is fun(damental)

Serious BGA & Brown Algae Problem
Well the plants that are buried all have 1 or 2 flourish root tabs each, ill see if I can get some Flourish excel imported, it's just that liquid is heavy so I try to stay away from that so shipping costs won't go through the roof.
I don't see the point in creating another thread for this so ill just ask here. What should be my dosing schedule for the excel....I'd assume with 150 gallons of water ill have to use more chemical each dose but I don't want to be burning through the stuff, anyone have an idea?
