After putting in food this morning, a bunch of cherry shrimp flocked to the scene. I estimate I probably have 80 shrimp in my ten gal right now, and 3 are berried females. So many juveniles! Thanks korith :)
Also did water tests in the ten gal to confirm that the sponge filters are cycled, and they are. nitrite and ammonia 0. I didn't bother testing for trate. This is good news!

I put zuccinni in the tank, and the sucker-mouths (not all are algae eaters) have finally caught on. The SAE nibbles it, the otto chews it, and the clown pleco, bless his little heart, devours it. I feel so parent like for feeding my "children" vegetables.
Also, i think I should post some more pictures soon....

Nice pictures, I always forget what a great little fish Glowlights are. They were the second tetra/characin I ever kept a long time ago, after Neons. I helped my cousin move to Anaheim (five hours away) and found a huge fish store. I bought Glowlight tetras and Head and tail lights and brought them all the way home and they survived the long trip!!

LOL, they are probably one of the hardiest fishes I've ever kept not counting plecos! They are certainly playful, somewhere in between my rummynose and black neons. In other news, I just got my new light for m ten gallon, I generic marineland LED light and hood. So more pictures are on the way!

I set up a small acrylic tank. I'm going to try and begin to select breed the RCS. Right now I have a test group of 7 or 8 cherries in there, wasn't really paying attention to their color, I just want to see if they will survive for a few days before I can be absolutely sure that this tank will work out.
Reasons it might not work out: the tank has been treated with medication before, the sponge on the filter may not be cycled, or the shriimp will not be able to adjust.
It is a nifty little tank though, it has a natural granite centerpiece with some java moss, with low light that looks natural and black substrate. The whole thing cost me about $10 to set up too. I guess I'll keep an eye on things and report back in a few days!

I'm still kind of a rookie...I didn't like the light at first (first picture) when shooting, then looking back on it from my desktop, the light from my first few photos were my favorite kind of light. Darn, I hope I don't make that mistake again. I was inspired to shoot because I cleaned off all my algae in the 30 gallon yesterday. Sorry to bog down this page with picture after picture.
Also, for some reason I can't show a really nice picture, amano in the moonlights.
