    Be careful going the "free" route, when considering substrate - I assume you'll borrow some from nature. There's a way to prepare it (and I'm not sure how you would) to make it safe for the aquarium.

    Yeah i will do a ton of research before i do it don't worry :p im not gonna just go in the back yard and throw some dirt in my tank that would be a set up for disaster
