hatchet fish
Do marbled or silver hatchet fish eat bladder snails?
Someone on hear suggested them for my tank and I love the idea but I want to add some more cover at the top of the tank for them as I've read thats what they like. If I get live floating plants I'm gauranteed to get another load of bladder snails come with them but it would look better and be more natural for the fish. If the hatchets eat the snails (or at least their eggs and babies) then I wouldn't see it as a problem but if they dont then I might go for a fake plant instead as I don't want to get overrun with them again.

Not sure what the process is (I think it is a 10% bleach bath but not sure) but there are ways to get rid of snail eggs on plants. Search for here and it should be fairly easy to find might try in the plant section.

Thanks for replying. The bleach baths a good idea but I was hoping if they ate snails it would be a good source of free live food.

Try goggling hatchet fish and trying to find out. It's always important to do your own research on fish and ask here with any questions that you might have, doing it this way I've at least gained more knowledge about the fish I keep.
