That's a beautiful angel fish. I think that's a male because of the red eyes?
When in doubt, do a water change.

My remaining 6 have been doing very well the past couple days, so I'm getting hopeful they aren't all going to die on me lol
I'm really hoping the cardinals all reach full size at 2" just for that very reason. My angels are little fatties though and they have plants to graze on so I'm HOPING they won't turn to eating the other fish. Cross my fingers.
Then I have an egg laying male lol. I've not heard of eye color contributing to gender in angel fish. I'm also pretty sure it's a hetero pair, they spawned for me last week, but I didn't get a good pic of their breeding tubes. I figured the red had to do with the species of angel fish they're derived from. Speaking of red eyes:http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d5...F9245FBABA.jpg
it does't get much brighter than that, yay territory wars.
And as per request, full tank shot, it's a little barren right now since I recently found out mondo grass isn't fully aquatic and I had a good bit of it in there :(-

Does anyone know of an Amazon plant that resembles Mondo Grass? I really liked the look it gave my tank though I knew I was going to get rid of it anyways to make the biotope.Last edited by FreakyFishie; 01-30-2013 at 06:23 PM.

Black and silver with the red eyes are my favorite angels. Here is my pair preparing to spawn.
Note the stripe on the female (top) does not go all the way down? She got behind the heater and gave herself a huge burn there. It had just begun to heal up. Your angels are gorgeous! Much, much prettier than what I had.

Update!
So I realized I've done so much in my tank and haven't really updated about it. It's starting to really come together, I remembered I had some driftwood I had picked up from a freshwater reservoir. After playing with it's placement I'm finally happy. I have a Kessil a150 Amazon Sun in the mail that I just CAN NOT wait to get, my cabomba has been so sad under my single t5. I hope to get some red and purple cabomba and some jungle val, which will finish off my plant needs. I'm also planning a major filter mod on my Aqua-Clear 110, so let's see what happens :D
So being an artist I decided to do a rough sketch of where I'm hoping to take this tank, all the plants I want are accounted for in my drawing, but not all the driftwood.

Ultimately the ending plant list will consist of:
Amazon swords, java fern, dwarf hair grass, red+purple cabomba, jungle val.
Continue to next post for fishie pics :3Generalized Amazon Biotope 36 gal with:

New pics!!!!!
And the moment you've been waiting for:

If you're wondering what the white string is, I couldn't find my black thread, but I tied a piece of dry driftwood down to help it become water logged and put it roughly in it's place.

I had asked my LFS if they could order in whiptail plecos and they said no, then I go in randomly and see a tank full of them! So I picked up two. One is very active and the other not so much and prefers to hide

Thanks :D I've had this tank envisioned since I first bought the aquarium when I was 15, but being 15 I got distracted and had fish that I don't even know how they got along. I had koi fish with an oscar and a blood parrot fish and some gouramis....clearly I have learned lol

I kid you not, NEVER had a problem with aggression. The koi reached about 7" length and I put them in my dads backyard pond, where on of them still resides, 7 years later and through MA freezing winters. The other fish perished at the hands of my mother when I went to college, who apparently didn't do a water change for 8mo (even though I reminded her every month to do one) and then called me asking why all the fish were dead -.-. Least it gave me a fresh canvas to make a new masterpiece :). I also have a little 3gal pico tank that currently has a baby blue crawfish, but I'm thinking of moving her to a 5 gal and setting up the 3gal as a tiny salt water tank with a single clown fish and anemone once I build a mini canister filter for it. Never had a saltwater tank before, but I've always wanted one.
