Appear to have dodged a bullet. All is good today. Carpet still a little damp

but is drying nicely.

I would say, if you're going to resilicone, to only use silicone that's made for aquariums. The home-siliconing products may not be safe.

Your LFS should have aquarium silicone in stock, hopefully.

Tank leaks are a pain in the posterior. The larger the tank, the bigger the pain.

thanks. turns out it's not the tank. had to be a hose, although it quit leaking by the time i discovered the 2 inch drop in water level. everything was taken apart, checked and double checked and seems to be fine now. Fingers crossed.
