Probably because before you bought the filter, the triangle of CO2, light and Nitrates were the right balance for the wisteria to thrive. Since you had a drop of one nutrient (the nitrates in your case) that balance was lost thus the wisteria becoming transparent. Im sure once it recovers and adpats to the new levels, it will pick up and thrive again without any interference on your part.

Makes sense. So how will it recover then? Wouldn't the nitrate stay as low as it is now? And when would it recover?

I paid about 100 for my 30'' acquaticlife t5ho fixture, it has adjustable leg stands which can fit to your tank size.

Nitrates of 80-120 is a killer for fish. You need to pay a bit more attention to the fish and what's healthy for them rather than worry about just the plants, I believe. If you have too many plants in the tank, then the bottom of the plants are also being deprived of light. Root tabs are also fine for plants like amazon swords but other plants like fertilizer in a liquid form. Agree no CO2 is needed and possibly dangerous to your fish.

If nitrates are over 20, do another large water change. Plants use some nitrates but certainly not in those amounts. Algae would like those numbers, tho.

Ok. Thats what I did to get my nitrate back under 20 ppm. But of course I would like to have both healthy fish AND healthy plants lol.
