good to know Kevin. Well if the micro swords don't make it, the chain swords can do whatever they want. As long as i get some sort of carpet, or dense growth I will be happy. I really do hope the micros get their act together.

just fyi, I am using this as inspiration of my 10 gallon shrimp tank that I am in the process of getting everything together for.
I'm debating the rock style like you, or just going with driftwood again... such a hard choice... And I also may go a few more plants too, but I like the set up you have
I wouldn't recommend a white background, feel like if it got dirty it'd be ugly, vs black hides more55g: DG, 5 GBR, 10 Zebra Danio, 6 Cherry Barb, 5 Oto, 6 Sterbai, 9 Platies, RCS

Thanks Hardy85. Will the 10 gal be your first shrimp tank?. I would go with driftwood and rocks, espeacially if you are using a standard 10 gal. The reason i say this is becquse in a standard 10 gallon you have more room for diverstiy. The best thing about aquascaping is that it is all about your personal prefrence.

yes, will be my first shrimp tank, only going to go with red cherrys for now (i have a guy that can give me a bunch free).
I will need to add more from a different source for gene diversity.
Right now I am thinking I will have 20-28W of light, either eco-complete substrate or turface, and some low tech plants to hide all filter and heater etc55g: DG, 5 GBR, 10 Zebra Danio, 6 Cherry Barb, 5 Oto, 6 Sterbai, 9 Platies, RCS

I wish my betta tank didnt crash. I had so many RCS in there but they are all in the sea in the sky now. I would have sent you some. Sounds like you have a good plan. Moss is a must for shrimps.
