Ideas needed for next project
Hi All,
Back from a week in Vegas and getting ready for my next project. Happy to announce that my 10 year old did a great job taking care of the 55g while I was out. A few things to report since my last couple of posts:
- Algae problem is well under control now with the addition of the ottos.
- Plants are thriving (light doses of Excel and added flourish tabs)
- Fish are all active and healthy
I have been on the looking for my next project. I had been trying to land a deal on a 92 gallon corner bow front but that does not look like it is going to happen. I have located many 75, 90, and 125's. A 125 long would be a bit much, from a space point of view. I did find a 120 Cube for a hundred bucks, tempted but not sure what to do with it. I think the dimensions are 30x30x31 so it is a deeper tank. Still would want to do a freshwater planted tank will need stronger lighting to reach the bottom. What kind of fish would do well in there?Mike

60 Gallons, would need to tell the guy he's high on his price, but may be worth it if he is willing to drop down

The 120 cube sound like a good tank and it would be perfect for an angelfish or discus tank. They both prefer aquariums that are higher than most standard tanks.
Maybe some angels, dwarfcichlids/flagcichlids and tetras.Do as I say. Not as I do.

Hey Hardy! I was looking at one like that in my area. Some people think these things hold their value like gold.... on another note do you have any problems with your fish munching on your wisteria?

So far not that I have noticed... if anything they munch on the hygro... in general I haven't seen any fish eating the plants. My DG will peck at floating leaves of pieces that broke off
But yea the prices on some of the tanks people find are nuts. I would value that tank (if only tank, stand and light) around 200 max55g: DG, 5 GBR, 4 Oto, 6 Sterbai, 4 Platies, RCS

Damn! ... The 120 was sold. Ah well for $100 it doesn't surprise me. Got feelers out on a couple 70's and a 90 though.

Very nice! Have you come up with potential inhabitants? Right now my mind goes to either an all male peacock african cichlid tank or a show discus tank.
FW: 1 45gal, 1 40gal, 3 10gal, 3 30gal all community tanks of different species
Sw: 1 55gal, 1 30gal show, 1 29gal show, 1 20gal and 2 10's
