  1. Question Spawning pair, not sure on gender?

So I had 3 angel fish in the hopes I might get a pair. Well two of the fish paired off and laid eggs. They became so territorial towards the other angel that I had to rehome it with a friend. Anyhoo, they laid their eggs and were doing a good job protecting them, but by day 3 two thirds of the eggs were white. I know angels can have female/female pairings and I'm wondering how I might figure out if this is the case or if they just had a first spawning blunder and thats why all the eggs went infertile? I'm almost positive I have a hetero pair as the fish seem to follow the physical gender differences such as one having a big forehead and more rounded body shape, but I know those aren't for sure means of sexing.

If its a young pair most likely they're still working out the bugs on what to do and how to do it. You can easily go though 3-5 spawns before they get it right. I have a pair on their 7th spawn. They get the eggs set and keep them clean but now the second they become wigglers they eat them. Its just going to take some time.

So I took a video when they still had their spawning tubes out. I'm pretty sure I see a male and female tube, but I can't quite tell and was wondering if I could get some second opinions?

If you click on it a video should open in a new tab/window.

I can't tell from the video either but this link may help you, http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aqua...ad.php?t=75528
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

Thanks, but I've checked out the thread and I still can't tell >_< They spawned a week ago at this point so everything is back to being tucked inside and I just can't remember if I saw two different tubes or not so I'm trying not to get too hopeful only to be let down if they end up being F/F, I suppose now I'll just wait for them to breed again and try to get some good pics to figure this out.

Well in a couple weeks they should be trying again. Just keep an eye on them.

lol pretty much. Though I guess it really doesn't matter as I don't necessarily want to breed angels so much as have a hetero pair in case I ever really want to. Or if for whatever reason I needed to sell them, I would be able to say what gender they were and if they were a breeding pair. It would just be cool to see how far they could get letting them do their thing if they are a hetero pair.
