    Has anyone here ever dosed their reef with vodka? Is there any truth to the potential benefits that I've read about?

    Yes, I have read a lot about them and know at least one person that had good results with it, just as with most forms of carbon dosing. I would say the claims are accurate based on my friend's tank.
    If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

    The powerhead on our protein skimmer crapped out right after my last post. We just got the new powerhead in the mail today so I will get the skimmer running and try to dose the tank tomorrow.
