  1. Default Bala Sharks or Ghost Knife?

    0 Not allowed!
    Hi guys,
I have a 16 gallon bowfront and was wondering which of these fish to get. I KNOW MY TANK IS TOO SMALL, but i have a friend with a much bigger tank who I will eventually give these fish to.
    P.S. I'm not a beginner

Both will outgrow a 16 gallon in no time at all. Since you will be giving these fish over to someone else real soon, how about ask your friend which one he/she prefers? And while he/she ponders that, maybe you could consider if it won't be a better idea to get small fish that you could enjoy for a long time.

benifit of the doubt, you are not spam. balas even as babies are already to big IMO for anything under a 55. bgk need at LEAST a 75. unless you really are into them id leave it alone all together. bgk dont do much during day and sometimes dont do much at night either. So if even if your frined has a bigger tank, a nice 75-125 for BGK or I highly doubt a 400+ gallon for a bala as they school. Id stick with a small community for a 16, maybe some small tetras and a dwarf Gourami

    I'll triple that.

the tank size you have isn't suitable for those fish.

I'll take your word as being not a newb, and so you should know better.

stock your tank with fish you want.

let your friend stock his/her's with appropriate fish.

they need a min of 4ft long tank.

since you have a 16gallon. i'll help with suggestions on stocking:
    pygmy cory cats
    dwarf/honey gourami

    what doesn't belong:
RTS, cichlids, angel fish, silver dollars, bala sharks, bgk, oscars.

that should help guide you for your further recommendations.

I think I'll go with schools of danios and cardinal tetras

don't recommend that either for a tank that small.

danio's are need swimming room-they zip around and need to be able to do that.
    you can't in a 16gallon.

neon's are a good choice though.
