Thanks Guys and gals. Is there anyone who kept apistos at high pH? Yes, they prefer it low, but at this point I'm just curious.

Greentoads......is there some reason you can't put the scissortails in the 30 gallon and then you can have the glowlights that you want to have in the 10 gallon? It's sounds like your 30 gallon is going to be a whole variety of fish so the scissor-tail might as well join the party?
I like the dwarf chain loach, too. Lots more fun than corys, IMO. I'd love to have about 6-8 of them in my 55 gallon. Glad someone mentioned them here because I had forgotten about them.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

Well, I just thought they would need more of their kind on order to not be stressed. But they are longer in body length and bigger than the other characins and cyprinids in the 30 gal, so I guess they would be alright. I was also nervous that I would be scolded for putting too many species of fish in the tank lol, but if you would approve it, Lady Hobbes, that would be all the authority I need to move them. It would make everything fall into place! How wonderful that would be.

Well my dear, then you have my approval. LOLOL
Sometimes we end up with a few oddballs as the rest of the school dies off. I have less than a full school of a few remaining fish I have. I don't care for them so not about to get more of them. I have been waiting for 5 years now for a couple gold tetra's to die but apparently they have decided to live forever.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

I can relate. That's my sentiment with one glow light I have now. I started with 5, and over the course of about 7 months, I've lost 3. Now 1 glowlight has a swimbladder issue which causes him to swim straight up, bouncing on the water in order to stay in the middle of the tank. I think of him as my retarded buddy. I thought he would die soon; He's been like this for 6 months. He's near the end of his days though. His spine at this point is really in bad shape, and he has lost a lot of color in just the past week. It also seems he is using more energy than before in order to stay afloat. His friend is perfectly fine, and I've seen they way they look in a school, and they are just gorgeous, but my poor little "special" friend really wouldn't fit in with the others if i got a school.
