Doesn't take long to kill a fish. Why do you have to put the gourami in toxic water? Do a large water change and it won't be toxic.

Can I put him in there now

Do another water change. How big is the tank you are trying to put him in? All ammonia is harmful to fish so yes .5 is to much. 0 is the only thing exceptable, and .25 calls for a water change from what I understand.
65 Gallon Tall 4' long Planted aquarium, Eheim 2217

Doing multiple water changes should not effect your cycle. Bacteria lives in the filter and substrate ( gravel, sand, etc.).

If this has already been mentioned I didn't see it but what are you doing that requires you moving him for an hour?
    Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

Added neon tetras, gourami is chasing tetras for lunch. OP wants to pull gourami from tank to reintroduce him so he is not so territorial.

    so should i or shouldn't i
also the 1.5 is at 28c ( pre set heater )
and the one he is in is about 26 c.
how can i introduce him into this warmer climate.
i just remembered that my tank that the neons are in have a ph of 7.6.
should they be in a lower ph?

    For an hour...

A heated 5g bucket with tank water would be far more suitable IMO than a 1.5g 'tank'. 400% the water volume & No acclimation required that way.

Obviously this entire scenario can be avoided by not buying stock that is inappropriate for your tanks current residents ... But that ship has sailed.

As LH mentioned those neons are going to do nothing but hide from the gourami. They are going to feel threatened by a fish that much bigger than them pretty much no matter how mellow it is.

What is the pH of the store where you bought them? It may be a non-issue.

RE: Introduction: How did you acclimate initially?

You obviously did not QT so.... Personally, I wouldn't go messing with the pH at this point.
