++ to both posters. the PH at my LFS is 8.5 (and they keep harleys BTW). My ph is 7.2.
So yes, drip Acclimate. Easy as pie. If you've never done it the simplest way is to get a bucket, put your new fish in it, take about 5 feet of tubing, tie a knot in it somewhere, start siphoning water from your QT (or your show tank if these are your first fish into the tank) and let it drip slowly into the bucket with the new fish. You can adjust the drip by tightening or loosening the knot but the drip should be slow.
I drip for about 1 1/2 hours. I also add an air bubbler to the bucket.
Then net them and put them in the tank ... don't pour the water back as you don't want fish store water in your tank.30 gal FW:dw gourami, cory cats, ABN pleco, Colombian & Serpae tetra, nerites & mystery snails

tbh if its a real lfs and not petsmart or petco they should have similar water to urs, unless its a long trip for you.

It is a real lfs, about 40 minutes away. Good selection, good fish, employees who know their stuff... Thanks for the help! Looks like I'll be getting some harleys tomorrow
Just a side note... there's a petsmart 25 minutes away that actually has better fish than two closer lfs's... go figure...

petsmarts seem to be stepping up their game. the only reason i didnt include them as "real lfs" is because they purify their water to a 7.0 ph.... so their water will be different.
