10 gal DG tankmates?

Is there anything that would work in a 10 gal with a dwarf gourami or is he better off alone?

In my experience DW gourami's are generally territorial but not prone to bullying unless they're with more of their own kind. I don't know why you couldn't have 3 or 4 platies or a small school of cardinal or neon tetras with him. Something that will stay small.
A bad choice might be more gouramis or a betta. I tried sword tails with a DW gourami once and the ST's bullied the gourami so you might steer clear of them.
Someone else might have some other suggestions.

you can do all male guppies too... but if you get a female dont worry not many fry would live...

Harlequin rasboras should work with a DG. About 8 is all you could put in a tank that size.

Before I get my harleys I have a question regarding pH. I have softened water in my apartment complex. pH right out of the tap is 7.6 but in tank it's around 8.5 in this tank and around 8.2 in my other tank (which has driftwood). I do not want to mess with pH because stability is far more important than the level. Will harleys do ok with a pH of 8.5 or should I choose other fish?? (Or not add any fish? I would like more fish but am ok with just the DG)

if you buy them from a lfs and do a slow drip acclimation they should be fine. most fish are very adaptable and not messing with ph is the best thing. BTW 8.2 and such is hard water not soft.... soft would be <7.0

While thats high, I think with the proper acclimation they should be ok. Just take a bit more time, and I'd recommend the drip acclimation method

No guarantees b/c I haven't worked with that high of ph. but like you said most fish are ok with stability, I'm sure the fish you have now aren't all meant for ph that high but are ok
