No not 100% RO but as my source for RO is what I was reffering to.
Tell ya what lol, do me a huge favor and describe what you do on water chemestry. I am still a rookie at many things regarding Discus. I have kept and bred discus in 7ph without issue but I know my 8+ is to high. Talk to me about what you do and I would love to replicateFW: 1 45gal, 1 40gal, 3 10gal, 3 30gal all community tanks of different species

+1 on what Cermet said, make sure the temperature of the water you're changing with matches whatever is in the tank already. Just a word of advice, if you have an RO/DI unit, when you're mixing the water you can just use the RO water and save your deionization membrane. I would say you're already ahead of the curve by having your discus bred in the past, meaning you take care of them.
Once you get your target pH mix, stick with it, they're TONS of threads on simplydiscus that will do a great job of guiding you step by step since they're solely dedicated to discus but we'll do our best job to guide you here.

this article is how I have lived my life with discus thus far. Its in line with Mojo's statements about TDS readings. So overall PH doesnt matter but the less hard the water is, the more fertilization time available to the male. Great GREAT info.FW: 1 45gal, 1 40gal, 3 10gal, 3 30gal all community tanks of different species
Sw: 1 55gal, 1 30gal show, 1 29gal show, 1 20gal and 2 10's
