My new Rescued Betta
Introducing my new betta! I got him for free off a girl at my fish club who breeds bettas. He was meant to be a Half-Moon but he's turned out to be a Rosetail with uneven sized scales (which is apparently bad) so she was going to give him away with a bunch of other "uglies and deformities" as feeder fish -- until I nabbed him. I think he's gorgeous, even if he is "deformed". I only feel bad I couldn't take all the other poor baby bettas which are destined to be some oscar's lunch.
He's only about 1 inch long at the moment so has some growing to do!
Any suggestions for names? I was thinking Axe, because the breeder jokingly said, "He has horrible uneven scales, like a battle axe!".

*squints at* I see absolutely nothing wrong with him. That must be a breeder thing. I think he's gorgeous ^_^

Me too guys, I think he's stunning! Apparently the Rosetail is an undesirable trait for whatever reason and I had to swear on my life I would never breed with him before she let me have him, haha.
Oh well -- worked out well for me because I got a lovely nearly-HM betta completely free. HMs are usually $100+ here. The cheapest you'll get ANY betta for is $20 or $30 for a plain VT.

o.0 They're that expensive? VTs and "common" CTs are under $10 here, fancier bettas up to $20, and more for the giants. A REALLY good deal, then!

Betta breeders can be a picky lot. His coloration is uneven throughout the scales, and I can see there is some of different size than the others. I can pick it out, but this does not to me mean there's anything wrong with him.
Nothing wrong with a rose-tail either, IMHO.
good save there, he's lovely.2 10 gallon tanks, 1 20 gallon tank, 1 Fluval Edge, 1 29 gallon tank, and one backyard pond.

Please don't use my suggestion, cause don't like the singer. But was thinking Axel Rose.
Love the color and fins
