He's Alive!!!
My little holiday 'miracle' story:
My last bumble bee catfish passed away a few months ago...it was sad, because even though I rarely saw him...the odd sighting was exciting! Like spotting a rare species of bird while birding...
I cleaned the tank the other day...and saw a fish hiding in a clay pot that was hidden in the plants, that looked odd. So I poked it...several times (gently)...thinking it was one of the two remaining geriatric cory cats - and that it was maybe stuck or something.
When it finally 'emerged' and I could see it...it was a bumble bee catfish!
Frankly...I know I had two at one point. One in the upstairs community tank...one in the downstairs (long defunct) puffer tank. I assumed the upstairs one had died eons ago...and then the other one recently.
Apparently not!
The only other explanation is that this one is an offspring? But I doubt that.
Regardless...it's my most exciting fish tale in months...

What a nice surprise to find a family member you didn't know you even had. He must not be much fun to have around if you never see him.

LOL...no...not exciting as far as fishwatching goes...but now I know I still have him, I'll check for sightings!
My BN is always hiding too...but I can easily see him where he lives...so I can at least check on him. The cory cats come out at feeding time (but never both at the same feeding, lol).
My herd of CPDs is also secretive...but they all emerge from the forest of plants at feeding time at least.
Most of the time...the tank looks totally empty...even though there are at least 20 fish in there...

Lol! You both had holiday miracles. One with found food under a cabinet, the other with found fish in the tank. That's funny.
