    Default worm in the dirt

I have been doing some research and i decided to try a dirt planted tank. So i got some potting soil that ( from what i could tell didnt have any ferts) and put it in my tank, then covered it with a laver of sand and some gravel. i stated noticing that dirt would come up in random spots. Well today i waw the culprit, an earth worm.
my question is... Is he going to be a problem? should i try to get him out, or will he actually help the ecosystem? I have had the tank for like 2 and a half weeks now, so im thinking he might be able to survive underwater, which i didnt think was possible, so any suggestions you guys could provide would be helpful.

what size is the earthworm(do you know?)? I don't think it will cause any issues other than bringing up the soil over the gravel. however if it is big and dies it may cause water quality issues. I am not surprised at all that the earthworm survived underwater. once I tried feeding my fish redworms, and one of the worms dropped into the gravel and buried itself. I figured that it would eventually perish but a couple of months later when I was tearing down the tank - there it was, squirming around in the gravel. I am more surprised on how the worm got into the tank, because you said you used potting soil(which I assume was sterilized and in a bag).

Earthworms usually come to the surface of the yard when its raining as they are usually die when underwater for too long
but they need to be wet or they will dry up
i would take it out before it dies

I was wondering the same thing, well until now. i just remembered that i kind of hastily decided that the soil i was using may not have enough nutrients so i grabbed some of the soil around my house.
Its probably 3 in long somewhat skinny and redish.

see that what i would have thought, but im kinda thinking, if it was going to die, then it already would have, right? its almost been 3 weeks
