You can use one of those peltier chillers. They work well and dont use as much power. Not as efficient as a compressed gas fridge, but less power nonetheless

I don't open more than I will use in a month. Food is well sealed and preservatives added and I think if it was meant to be refrigerated, it would state that on the package. When I bought food from Ken's Foods that come in zip lock bags and a huge amount that I knew would not be used for some time, I refrigerated part of that. But if a company does not state refrigeration is recommended, then I don't.
