My surprise.....
0
I thought I was out of Prime so didn't do my water change this week. Also ran out of algae pellets and almost out of Hikari pellets............
until I opened the door under my fish cabinet this morning.
Here is two new bags of Hikari pellets, 2 more bottles of Prime and another bag of algae pellets. Also an unopened jar of Omega One flakes.

Just as I was about to take off and drive 2 hours to the fish store, too! yeaaaaaaaa

Just a thought - I keep all my fish food in the refrigerator - the vitamins and even proteins in fish food tend to breakdown at room temperature (and yes, bacteria can grow slowly, too.) More critically, most fish foods have oils that can turn bad by reacting with oxygen so lower temp prevents this.
I keep a small week's supply near the tank in a plastic 'container' (a small fish food bottle with cap) that seals out oxygen but my main supply is always in the frig.

Knowledge is fun(damental)
A 75 gal with eight Discus, fake plants, and a lot of wood also with sand substrate. Clean up crew is down to just two Sterba's Corys. Filters: continuous new water flow; canister w/UV, in-tank algae scrubber!! Finally, junked the nitrate removal unit from hell.

Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.
A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

I ordered this stuff in Oct and forgot I had ordered it. I keep a wicker basket by the tank with daily stuff in it and toss duplicates in the stand cabinet. Nice surprise to find about $75 worth of "forgotten" goodies.

Wouldn't keeping them in the fridge make them a bit damp after a while?
