Pygmy vs. Sparkling Gouramis
Are they the same thing? When you Google search Sparkling Gourami one of the results is the Wikipedia page for Pygmy Gourami but then again what does Google know?
I'm just wondering because when looking at my stock list on AqAdvisor, one of the warnings said that when sparkling Gouramis begin to breed they may become too aggressive for Oto Cats. I'll include a photo of my fish, I just don't know what kind of Gourami they are!

Sorry for the blurry quality, they don't like to stay still!

Sparkling and Pygmy are one and the same and not to be confused with the:
Licorice Gourami (Parosphromenus deissneri):

Both can be aggressive at breeding time. Sparkling gourami, at least the ones I've kept, have blue eyes.
I'd make the otos have plenty of places to hide.Last edited by Taurus; 01-06-2013 at 03:16 PM.
When in doubt, do a water change.
"This ain't rocket science!"
