Diamond Tetra
Good evening everyone. My wife has two of her Tetra with red at the very of it's tail. The first one died but the second one is acting fine minus the tail. He is eating There are no outward marks or cuts that I can see on the fish's tail. The tank is cycled and the water tested normal today with 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and some nitrates.

Based on your post, it sounds like fin rot which is a bacteria infection. If that is the situation here, treating with Paraguard or tetracycline would be best.
Could you post a pic of the fish ?If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

You could also try googling pictures of fin rot to see if that is what your fish have

Cliff's suggest of tetracycline is a good one. Another suggestion would be Maracyn 2.

Thanks for the replies guys. Sorry to say the tetra didn't make it and now two more of the Diamond's have scales around their mouths that appear to be falling off. We have now q'd the fish in another tank and now are trying to figure out what's going on. My wife's tank is cycled and the API test kit showed 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and 20-40 ppm nitrates. We do 50% wc every weekend feed them once a day. The rest of her fish eat and look okay to me. What gives? Thanks
