  1. Default What to feed new born angel fry

    0 Not allowed!
Hey, my angel fry are going to be free swimming in a few hours and i wonder what to feed them. I know i'm coming quite late with this question but i didn't notice until now how small they are at this stage i thought they would be bigger,
i have frozen cyclops and they are very small but now i see that the fry are maybe a bit to small to eat them.

i know baby brine shrimp is the best but i'm not paying 50 bucks for 1 batch of eggs it's just to much money.

Is it possible to crush regular flakes into small enough pieces so they can eat it?

I've never had angle fish fry, but I have raised other FW fry before. If you are not going to feed the brine shrimp, which just might be the best BTW, you could try the below food. It's really meant for fry a little further along in their growth but it just might work for you

If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I have had angel fish fry and yes, it is possible to grind fish flakes into really tiny particles that the fry can eat. I got fry started in this manner.

Be aware that a lot of vitamins will quickly be lost. This will get them started but hatching new brine shrimp is cheap, easy and provides good nutrition.

Small brine shrimp kits (eggs and a bottle adapter) are very cheap. You provide the air pump and a old plastic soda bottle.

    Knowledge is fun(damental)

A 75 gal with eight Discus, fake plants, and a lot of wood also with sand substrate. Clean up crew is down to just two Sterba's Corys. Filters: continuous new water flow; canister w/UV, in-tank algae scrubber!! Finally, junked the nitrate removal unit from hell.

  4. Default Sea Monkeys!

I don't know if this is an obvious statement or not, but it took me a long time to figure this out. Sea monkeys are brine shrimp! :) So you could go to walmart and for $7 get a sea monkey kit, follow directions and when they start hatching, feed them to your fry! I have been trying to get my angels to have a successful spawning, but I'm out of luck. Good luck with your fry!!!

I put a good brand of fish flakes on a paper towel and rolled them with a rolling pin that pulverized them into almost a power. Once they got about 2 weeks old, I gave them brine shrimp. It's VERY cheap to give them brine shrimp. Just get some brine eggs and do them yourself.

They will eat off their yolk sac for several days so probably won't eat anything yet anyway.

You really wont need one of those huge can of brine eggs for one group of swimmers. I pay $4 for a vile of eggs and that lasts me a few weeks. I have a 55g and 3 30g tanks stuffed with angel fry that get fed twice a day. I only use 1/8 of a tablespoon of eggs per feeding. One of those cans would last forever.
