maintenance, cleaning question
As part of my regular bi weekly cleaning i change my filter sock. I have two. After i take the dirty sock out i typically hose it out to get any thick stuff out then leave it in a bucket with a mix of water and bleach for a few days. Then i thoroughly rinse it out then let it sit and dry for a week. My question is do you think i am causing a problem using tap water or should everything be fine since it sits out of the water for a week. My water changed are always 0tds rodi water.

Personally, I'd be soaking it in Prime to dechlorinate it for a day or at least overnight before setting it out to dry. I wouldn't put anything that had touched bleach without being Primed into any of my tanks, let alone my reef tank.
Having said that, if your critters are doing well, then it must not be an issue.

+1 to the above
I wash mine by hand with dechlorinated water. Nothing added to the water other than the dechlorinaterIf you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.
